This story chronicles the crew of the transformable carrier Daik? Mary? and the Super Robot Gaiking's battle against an invading race of aliens called the Dark Horror Army, whose home planet is facing destruction by a black hole. Notable aspects of the series include the dinosaur-based designs of the Daik? Mary? and its support machines and the use of part of the carrier to form the main robot. The Gaiking robot is helmed by former baseball star Sanshiro Tsuwabuki, whose latent psychic powers make him the only one capable of piloting the giant robot.

He turns out to be Yokomi Hirohiko, the Japan's biggest train enthusiast. In 1995, he visited all 4636 JR train stations. Now he is going to visit the remaining 5207 private stations. Kikuchi, despite her inital horror at her task, is stuck, as her boss is a huge train geek too. Grâce a son épée, l’épée du loup, il fait appel à deux robots (“Force du Bien” et “Courageux”) dans lesquels il s’intègre pour en former plus qu’un afin de pouvoir affronter Gadès, Démo, Phytor et les frères Diablotrons. Dans leur combat pour sauver les habitants de la planète du clan Gader, le duo intrépide est accompagné par de nombreux robots capables de se transformer en divers engins: Leader, Proto et Vrille.
