Based on the manga by Sorano Kairi serialised in Comic Blade Avarus.
Akira Nikaido is a typical slacker high school student who thinks he has a normal life--until a mysterious man called Shirogane appears and tells him to meet him at the school that night. He is skeptical but goes anyway...and gets attacked by a shadow monster! Shirogane convinces him that the balance between the human world and the shadow world has been distorted, and that Akira must become a shin--a creature of the shadow world--in order to help restore the balance.

Akira Nikaido est un élève du secondaire quelque peu paresseux, qui croit avoir une vie normale et ennuyeuse.
Un jour un homme mystérieux appelé Shirogane apparaît de façon assez inattendu et lui demande d'aller à l'école la nuit. Au début il le prend pour un pervers et il est sceptique, mais il y va quand même...
Ils sont alors attaqués par des monstres ombres (les kokuchis) Shirogane le convainc que l'équilibre entre le monde humain et le monde de l'ombre a été déformé, et qu'Akira doit devenir un Shin (une créature du monde de l'ombre donc devenir comme Shirogane) afin d'aider à rétablir cet équilibre.
Suite au combat Akira veut des explications mais ceci ne va pas être si simple d'en avoir... .
